With government’s intention to raise the farm power availability from 1.84kW/ha to increased 4.0 kW/ha, the sector will be seeing engineering inputs which will require development and introduction of high capacity, precision, reliable and energy efficient equipment.

Smart farming using precision agriculture and digital technologies well supported by artificial intelligence is powering farms across the world. Internet of things (IoT), drones and robots are catalysing changes in agricultural sphere. They can help in administering accuracy and sustainability into agriculture. The government has also attached considerable significance to smart farming and intends to digitize farming and many agricultural institutions in India are working on digital agriculture to address challenges in the sector. Many home grown solutions are already making waves and inspiring change.
