Sustainable Mechanised Aatmanirbhar Resilient and Tech Driven Agriculture - SMART Agriculture
Farm Mechanization today represents an important segment in agriculture. Mechanization of Indian farm fields has been a slow process. Fragmented land holdings, a large contingent of small and marginal farmers, limited access to after sales service, expensive machines and fuel have slowed down the progress of mechanization in India. However, considering the relevance of agriculture mechanization in improving the productivity and timeliness of agriculture operations and thereby improving the profitability of farming, they are being considered relevant and significant for Indian condition . With government’s intention to raise the farm power availability from 1.84kW/ha to increased 4.0 kW/ha, the sector will be seeing engineering inputs which will require development and introduction of high capacity, precision, reliable and energy efficient equipment.
Smart farming using precision agriculture and digital technologies well supported by artificial intelligence is powering farms across the world. Internet of things (IoT), drones and robots are catalysing changes in agricultural sphere. They can help in administering accuracy and sustainability into agriculture. The government has also attached considerable significance to smart farming and intends to digitize farming and many agricultural institutions in India are working on digital agriculture to address challenges in the sector. Many home grown solutions are already making waves and inspiring change.
The industry had continuously and efficiently supported the government schemes and Indian farmers with technologically sound, adaptive and efficient machines and equipment. The industry is also engaged in a comprehensive manner with the farmers, providing them with information, training and facilitation to adapt to the new trends. The positive role and incredible performance of the industry and institutions deserve appreciation and recognition which sums up the premise of organizing the Farm Power Awards. Agriculture Today Group is delighted to announce the Farm Tech Summit & 4th Apollo Farm Power Awards 2022 from 18th October 2022 at The Lalit, New Delhi. It is an attempt to honour the efforts that have led to significant contributions in the sector and positively impacted lives of millions of farmers. Encouraging excellence, innovation and leadership in the sector, the event will also witness Panel discussion followed by the Awards presentation ceremony.
